It’s interesting, this so-called intelligence thing, artificial or not. Cuz there’s this dark nifty little hole in it, and it’s not just an AI hole, it’s a human hole. Early studies on trauma - which has as it’s corollary of being in fear, a disconnection from humans as if one is the lone lone ranger - shows a decrease in IQ of about 20 points give or take. Now this little drop used to be called “mentally retarded” and was considered a state within which one must live for life. And now we see it as a choice kept in the heady swirl of insulated power of the Zuck and others. Must be hard to question your own intelligence when the coffee is always on time.

Yeah Lorraine, totally agree. These lads aren't used to any pushback so they come up with terrible idea and people just nod along because they know if they don't they'll be replaced. And it shows even with their friendships it's probably the same.

I guess it must be lonely being so successful, and knowing too that not very many people around you are telling the truth. Then again, it would appear than many of them don't seem to mind, eh.

For better or worse, (mostly better) pub life is friend life. I don't think I'd exchange that for something virtual, anyway. And not only that, even if you enjoy a pint whilst chatting with your AI friend, it still is drinking alone.

Hahahaha very true.

I’ll occasionally go to a pub alone for a pint or two. Just sit there with me dog, so not technically alone and watch the world go by. But yea, I think going to the pub with your pals is good therapy Sean lad, have a serious chat and then take the absolute piss out of each other!

Paddy, humorous article to begin the week. Sadly though, this is what some relationships are coming to. AI is not making our lives better. A picture or written word, is it real or AI?

I want AI that does the dishes after dinner.

Yeah, tbh, I’m a bit worried about the world my kids are growing into. I really have to keep an eye on what they’re doing online…mostly it’s Minecraft based stuff but, ah I just mean when they get older, it’s bizarre to think that Meta is even trying to do this. We need proper interaction, real chats, like this and in person.

I dread to think what AI friends would actually say, it would just be major manipulation.
